Baikonur complex operates under the lease of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan in accordance with the lease agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan in terms of principles and conditions of use of Baikonur cosmodrome.
The main document regulating visiting Baikonur complex is “The agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan about the order of visiting Baikonur complex. (It was adopted in Astana on May 21, 2009). Taking into account the special status and operating conditions of Baikonur cosmodrome only organized tourism is possible.
The museum of the history of Baikonur cosmodrome provides only tour services. It doesn’t issue the permit passes to Baikonur town and Baikonur cosmodrome.
