The Museum of Baikonur cosmodrome history is located in the Palace of Culture in the city of Baikonur. It was established on November 7, 1968. On this day the room of military and labour glory of military unit 12253 builders was open in the garrison house of officers builders. This event was marked by the 50th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. In time the Museum increased, the themes of displays enlarged, new halls appeared. Nowadays there are four halls and an exhibition gallery in the Museum.
Any visitor of the Museum can join the great history of the first world spaceport.

The museum fund contains 15 thousand exhibits.
The Museum has at its disposal a collection of films about space and Baikonur cosmodrome, educational and popular science films and a library with books on space subject.
The Museum receives 7 thousand visitors annually.
